How to Transfer Facebook Page Ownership.

How to change ownership of a Facebook page from one Business Manager account to another.

This is what is working as of April 4th, 2018. Please link to this page so others can find it.

Here was the problem. Company XYZ wanted me to manage their paid Facebook Advertising. Once they gave my business manager access, I noticed that they were not the owner of their own page.

A prior company we’ll call MNO was the registered Page owner, but they were no longer managing the Page for XYZ. Thankfully they were still in business and XYZ had contact information for MNO.

MNO was confused to say the least, and not having to do this before was interesting to say the least. Here are the steps that worked.

XYZ needed their OWN Business Manager created to start the transfer request. At this point, I was personally added to the XYZ Page as Admin by an Admin account they had already set up.

Note: XYZ’s only Admin account was a Fake user, a person that didn’t really exist. Never do this on Facebook, you risk losing total access to the Page. Thankfully, that was not the case.

From the new XYZ Business Manager, I requested Page Ownership from MNO.

MNO had ownership, but no Admin account on XYZ Page.

I had MNO add XYZ Page back to their Business Manager and I gave them Admin access to XYZ Page.

I then needed to direct MNO to XYZ Page, go into settings, and have MNO accept the Page Transfer, and then remove MNO as Admin.

Smooth as butter. Since this all happened in a period of 24 hours, I was unable to make XYZ’s Page Primary in their Business Manager. I will have to wait a week or so because of Facebook security procedures.

There you have it, how to transfer Facebook Page ownership from one Business Manager to another. I couldn’t find anything close to this information online anywhere else. I hope this helps you. If you have questions, connect with us on Facebook at
